A beautiful and large Impressionist Oil painting of Lake Como in Italy. Inspired by recent commissions for the Lake District in the UK, Rene has approached this Oil in much the same way, the focus is on the swirling low mist which appears to be floating just above the water and of course the iconic building in the background. Villa Balbianello is one of the most famous landmarks in the Italian Lakes and is renowned for its beauty. Much of Rene's recent work has been whilst on location in Italy where he spends much of his time, he starts with a series of small pencil sketches...
