Jane Kim
Soundings - original loon painting

2021

$24,000

About

Jane Kim's dramatic and stunning 'Soundings' is a visual representation of water depth and sound. And the Common Loon is the perfect embodiment of both. Also known as the northern diver, the Common Loon uses its powerful legs to protect its body underwater at high speed to catch prey like black fathead minnows. The hunting cry of the loon is one of the artist's favorite sounds. Jane Kim's goal as an artist is to find points of connection between humans and the natural world because, as a society, we have become dangerously detached from the systems that sustain us. Jane Kim is also the creator of the world's largest bird mural at Cornell University in New York, in the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Professionally framed in museum quality white ash wood. And quick complimentary shipping is available in the US. Worldwide shipping also available. From Andra Norris Gallery in Burlingame, California.
