Ceravolo has been call the "Rock and Roll Painter" and "Painter of the Stars of Rock" by the media. One of The Hampton's most popular urban Pop artists whose work is collected by Elton John, Rod Stewart, and Alice Cooper among others. The sale price is 70% less than the price marked at the gallery. We are excited to present this original oil and acrylic painting on canvas by Ceravolo titled "The Fabulous Monroe Sisters". Ceravolo has painted the Hollywood glamour look of Marilyn Monroe on the the right side of the canvas and the casual girl next door look on the left side. The canvas measures 46x66" framed and was completed in 2020. It is painted in Ceravolo's classic Urban Pop style. When we visited him at his studio in the Hamptons he explained to us his concept for this major painting. I wanted to paint two versions of Marilyn, the Hollywood glamour image and the girl next store both sitting next to each other on beach chairs as if they were sisters and two separate people.
Ceravolo's Large scale paintings have received international acclaim for more four decades. This year will be the 40th anniversary of Ceravolo's urban pop portrait illusion paintings, a style that Ceravolo pioneered in the late 1970's with sold out exhibitions throughout the United States.
Ceravolo's art came to popular attention when he was commissioned to create five large scale paintings for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City of Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Frank Zappa, Neil Young and Hall and Oates. In addition to those, his paintings can be found in many influential corporate and private collections, including: ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, DAVID BRENNER, MONIQUE VAN VOOREN, WARNER BROS., RCA RECORDS AND SCHENLEY INDUSTRIES to name a few.
