A beautiful mid century modernist take on Madonna and child by Dorothy Steck Beech of Carmel, California (American, 1915-2002). Signed "D.S. Beech" lower right. Displayed in a rustic wood frame. Image, 30"H x 20"L.
The owner of Beeches' Gallery in Carmel, California, Dorothy Steck Beech received her associate of arts degree from Monterey Peninsula College. She was a campus beauty queen and the winner of drama awards while attending the college in 1937. Dorothy Beech was a longtime member of the Carmel Art Association.
