About the Item
"Remember Me" is a poignant piece of art that evokes a powerful sense of nostalgia and remembrance. The piece centers around the face of a character, depicted in a simple stick figure style, adorned with intricate African symbols that are rich in meaning.
The character's face is etched with a range of emotions, from happiness to sadness, highlighting the many moments of joy and shared experiences that they have had with the viewer. The stick figures serve as a reminder of the simplicity of childhood and the pureness of the memories that are shared between friends.
The African symbols used in the artwork tell a story of the deep connections that exist between people, despite the passage of time. These symbols are often used to convey messages of unity, community, and continuity. They serve as a reminder that the memories we share with others are eternal and can be passed down from one generation to the next.
The words "I want you to remember all the joy that I brought you. I want you to remember all the secrets we shared. I want you to remember all the games we played. I want you to remember that I remember" serve as a powerful call to action. They encourage the viewer to take a moment to reflect on the shared experiences that have shaped their life and to remember the people who have touched their hearts.
Overall, "Remember Me" is a beautiful and thought-provoking piece of art that captures the essence of friendship, connection, and the importance of remembering the past. It serves as a reminder to cherish the memories that we share with others and to hold them close to our hearts always.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I am usually challenged by empty canvases. And, I respond to this challenge by spontaneously experimenting with diverse materials to produce distorted figurative expressions.
Lines, symbols, and shapes are critical elements in my style as they give me the liberty to express myself with less restriction, upon the body of my figurative expressions are symbolic characters that share the narratives of each work.
My art speaks of hope, confidence, and courage through diverse situations. I am inspired by the perception of myself as well as the day-to-day happenings around me. As the subject of my artistry, I relate my personal experiences with that of others and use my art as a voice to communicate these stories and experiences that cannot be spoken of verbally.
