About the Item
Kathy Osborn’s career began 25 years ago as an illustrator, with work featured in several publications including The Atlantic Monthly, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, GQ and New York Magazine. It was only a few years ago that the artist decided to apply her illustration skills to a unique painting practice. Osborn creates hyper-realistic paintings from miniatures that she collects, stages and photographs. She painstakingly captures these scenes, resulting in disorienting vignettes of domestic life of a past or imaginary time. Osborn received her BFA from RISD and currently lives and works in Hudson, NY.
