About the Item
Matthew Crane is a figurative painter whose work seeks to find a balance between violence and grace. As a self taught artist, Matthew merges abstract expressionism and classic figurative motifs to achieve an isolated and dissociative sense of drama, reflective of his military service during the Iraq war. His work has been exhibited in group shows at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, 464 Gallery, Damon Morey and has been featured in print in Performer Magazine, The Aquarian and Buffalo Spree Magazine. Also an accomplished musician, Matthew and his band, The Albrights, have worked and collaborated with The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Nickelodeon, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Vitamin Water.
