About the Item
Arthur Osver studied at Northwestern University and the Art Institute of Chicago. Osver was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1952. He taught at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, Columbia University, Cooper Union, and at Washington University, St. Louis, for 21 years, where he was distinguished as Professor of Art, Emeritus, in 1981. His work is included in the permanent collections of many museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
