Peter Peereboom
Adagio Matinale XXIV

2018

About the Item

Peter Peereboom (1952) graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. He has various solo shows on his name including Centre Pompidou Paris in the 80's, Prinsenhof museum Delft, Zappion Athens Greece and his works are in many prestigious international collections. Peereboom commutes between Paris and Delft (Netherlands) where he has his artist studios. Photography is the starting point (currently with his third model) from which his compositions eventually find their form by adding collage paper strokes, wood and paint onto his canvases. The female figure carrying the branch is the central figure in his compositions. She is placed in landscapes and at sea shores ("La Femme et les Vagues" and "Adagio Matinale" series). These series, bring up an inner world in which the artist tries to translate what the photography alone cannot express, a feeling where "words" are not pronounced yet - in which silence and balance rules. Peereboom has an interesting oeuvre which gave him the opportunity to exhibit at Centre Pompidou Paris as one of the most prestigious museums and as a result became part of well known collections. His paintings work very well in any interior because of the combination of light, natural colours and materials like paper and wood and resonate calm and balance. Other paintings from various series available at ART-020 have dimensions like: 80 x 200 cm, 80 x 160 cm, 100 x 100 cm, 90 x 90 cm, 80 x 80 cm and 40 x 50 cm
