About the Item
Portrait of Basquiat - troubled enfant terrible of the street art scene in downtown Manhattan in the 1970's & 80's. Wearing his trademark Armani suits Basquiat worked in fast, furious frenzy to make his arguments appear on canvas, often going out in the paint spattered suit after finishing a piece. Sax Berlin has captured Basquiat in his prime when they were both working on the streets of Manhattan. This is a great piece of Neo-expressionism with collectors appeal for fans of the tragic Jean-Michel Basquiat and fans of supremely talented Sax Berlin.
