About the Item
This painting features a light portal in the subject’s “crown” chakra, the body’s physical connection to the universal or divine. The figure is isolated in a bubble, but the “you” in the title implies that he is not alone. The environment may appear supportively womb-like, or call to mind a helpless human plugged into the matrix, depending on the perspective of the viewer. Whether the subject is connected to God, himself, Mother Earth, or the Algorithm – the crown chakra here represents a connection to something greater than oneself, and the sense that one is never alone. The title was inspired by Kelly Lee Owens’ song “Night.”
