“The Fire Door” by Catherine Picard-Gibbs is an expressionist interior factory scene in a primary palette of red, teal, blue, and yellow. In this 18 x 24 inch oil on panel painting, the geometric square shape, texture, and red color of the fire door dominates the painting. There is a deep sense of space in the factory hallway where a suggestion of a factory worker is sketched. This dynamic painting is framed in a silver crackle floater frame with a black interior for a framed size of 19 x 25 x 1.5 inches.
Catherine Picard-Gibbs paints with bold brush strokes, using vibrant colors to show emotion and movement in landscapes and urban scenes.
