NIGHT TABLE OF THE ASSASSIN brings a view of what is seemingly a home office or studio work place and blends late-French symbolist still life painting with photo cubism. Stout has created a soft “air-brushed” style of painting to contrast smooth gradients with hard edges while commenting on the COVID-19 pandemic and the isolation he felt at the time while viewing the world from his home. During that time, the impeachment of Donald Trump was occurring which is represented by an unraveling orange symbolic of an unraveling presidency.
