Painting of Figures at the Empire State Building in New York City at Night by Contemporary British Artist, Angela Wakefield. Part of her New York Series. This original illustrates Angela Wakefield’s ability to capture the behaviour of light within the urban landscape, particularly in wet conditions after rain or at twilight. The combination of the figures, traffic and architecture are captured beautifully in her ‘contemporary realist’ painting style. Framed in a high quality bronze moulding with a white insert.

Angela Wakefield has twice been on the front cover of ‘Art of England’ and featured in ARTnews, attracting international attention and critical acclaim with her urban landscape paintings of New York, London & the North of England. The style of painting has been described as ‘contemporary realism’, and is often favourably compared with Edward Hopper by collectors and art critics.
