About the Item
Contemplative, rich, Turner-esque warm bronze abstract Impressionist reflective scene alludes to light falling on a vast landscape or body of water. Created with a rich range of golden tones. The late-career established artist paints thinly layered oil on linen over extended periods (from months to years) to complete a single work of art. Taking cues from nature’s extraordinary visual offerings — specifically, the play of light as it touches upon water and earth — Chase Bien's nature-inspired works bridge realism and abstraction, and convey a thin veneer of the of human spirit. Complex, rich, and slow in the making, the paintings, with their serene simplicity, are intended to be viewed and enjoyed over time. Late career artist Gail Chase Bien's work is included in prominent and prestigious collections worldwide.
40 x 120 inches when hung side by side, the diptych (in two parts) canvases are each 40 x 60 inches.. Framing is not required. Edges of the painting are also painted. A stunning work of art viewed up close as well as at a distance. Condition is excellent. Artist signed, dated and titled verso. Highly collectable new painting finished in 2019.
