Brigitte McReynolds
Brigitte McReynolds was born in Rosenheim, Germany, and studied in Munich and Italy. She moved to California in 1989 and immersed herself in painting and printmaking. McReynolds lives in Sonoma with her husband and daughter and returns to Germany and Italy every year to continue her work in painting and monotype. She brings a fresh approach to figuration with her bright palette and fluid, sensual drawing line. Working from abstraction, creating broad, layered areas of color, McReynolds finds her figures in the process of painting. She is a disciplined painter who loves her materials. McReynolds has honed her instincts over many years of exploration and arrived at a place where she is confident in taking risks and letting the works resolve themselves.
(Biography provided by Robert Azensky Fine Art)- REFLECTIONS 1 - Contemporary Atmospheric Landscape, Modern Seascape PaintingBy Grzegorz WójcikLocated in Salzburg, ATA few words of the artist about his art: When i painting landscapes, I usually choose simple geometric arrangements, contrasts of verticals and levels. I juxtapose the smooth surface of the sky with the rough texture of earth or grass. I paint symmetrical reflections in water and rhythmic repetitions of trees. Even an ordinary, seemingly uninteresting fragment of the suburban landscape hides a beauty that I want to see and then transfer to the canvas. I am inspired by nature because it contains a hidden secret of existence. For me, painting it is a reflection on life and passing away. It is an attempt to capture the imperceptible essence, to paint what cannot be seen. I think that my paintings can be a respite, an antidote for a man tired of technology, constant rush, hustle and bustle of the city. Grzegorz Wójcik...Category

- My World WithinBy Charlotte BernstromLocated in Burlingame, CARothko-esque Color Field painting that delights from a distance and up close from Swedish-American visual artist Charlotte Bernstrom, who creates acrylic paintings that are poetic explorations depicting nature and humanity’s place within it. Taking queues from Abstract Expressionism and Impressionism, through juxtaposing nature-inspired fields of color over earth-like stained and textured canvas, the autobiographical works are rooted in landscape and lean toward abstraction. Bernstrom’s paintings, with their complex, earth-like surfaces, evoke an emotional response that directs viewers toward a consciousness of their place in the natural world, and perhaps also encourage better care of the Earth. Born and raised in Sweden, Charlotte was mentored by her grandfather, the painter Lennart Schultzberg. He started teaching her plein air painting when she was five years old. He came up with innovative ways of teaching a young child perspective, color theory and to use different mediums. She learned about seeing, listening, feeling and how to translate those qualities through paint. Charlotte was influenced and inspired by an environment filled with art. In her early twenties, Charlotte moved to San Francisco and studied at the Academy of Art University and the California College of the Arts. Her landscape paintings gradually became more abstract and autobiographical, with an emphasis on color and texture. 'My World...Category
