Provenance: The Artist's Studio Sale, Bonhams, London 18 March 1993, Peter Constant Fine Art
Born in Bexleyheath in Kent, Charman studied at Regent Street Polytechnic just before, and just after World War 2. He exhibited widely, including the Royal Academy, the RBA, Chelsea Art Society and abroad. Elected in 1954 to the ROI, he also won the James Bourlet Prize in 1982. His work is in collections including that of the Guildhall.
