‘Blean Woods, Kent’ by Daniel Sherrin (1868-1940).
A large 19th century landscape oil on canvas depicting two figures out walking near woodland on a late summer afternoon. The painting is signed by the artist and hangs in a superb quality newly commissioned, bespoke gold metal leaf frame.
As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in excellent condition, having just been professionally cleaned, restored and re-varnished. Clients should also note that tracked and signed for international shipping is complimentary.
Daniel Sherrin was a very popular British landscape artist of the late 19th and early 20th century specialising in river scenes of the Home Counties of England. King George V commissioned a picture of Sandringham from Sherrin, a painting that still hangs in the royal collection at Buckingham Palace today.
