About the Item
Into the Woods is a series of seven oil paintings by Houston artist Ellen Art also known as C.Ellen Hart. The size of the Into the Woods series is 20 x 16 x 1 inches.
Each painting is gallery wrapped so there is no need for a frame.
These paintings can be sold as one painting or as a group of paintings. Shown is Into the Woods I .Also shown are pairings of if the paintings in the Into the Woods Series. Any combination can be made of the sever paintings. Just send a message.
ARTIST STATEMENT
An ongoing inspiration for me is the pleasure of going into any outdoor area to search out and capture simple patterns of light and shadow before they disappear. The image may be shadowy organic shapes cast on a bright surface or it may be a shadow of a man-made object in relief, or a mixture of organic and man-made shapes. I take these patterns back to the studio to play with color, scale and texture. Usually through play and experimentation I stumble onto the path of meaning.
