Eugene Maziarz
The Vineyards of Sonoma, California 24x36 original impressionist landscape

About the Item

This original impressionist landscape captures the beauty and charm that are the vineyards of Sonoma, California. An international stomping round of wine collectors and wine enthusiasts alike, you can feel the grapes about to burst and nourish the surrounding carefully tended acreage. One doesn't even need to see the clear blue sky to see the numerous colors reflecting off of the vines, the rooftops, the trees defining borders. Polish American artist Eugene Maziarz applies classic impressionist impasto to his oil painting to add depth and an organic element to the composition. Prior to migrating to the United States, Maziarz was appointed, by the Polish Ministry Committee of Culture in Warsaw, as a member of the prestigious Polish Organization of Artists. He also taught painting at some of the leading universities in Poland. Now a full time professional artists based in the U.S. he primarily shows his work in California, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

  • The Mill, First Slaughter, original impressionist English landscape
    By John Phillip Osborne
    Located in Spring Lake, NJ
Known for it's timeless charm, the quaint Cotswolds of England are what dreams are made of. First Slaughter, Upper and Lower Slaughter adjacent to Bourton-on-the-Water are such places! The Eye Brook weaves through the Slaughters, affectionately known as "the Slaughter;" the name was derived from the local marsh rather than what one might otherwise expect! This original impressionist landscape exemplifies the historical importance of the mill in these hamlets as well as the warm and inviting feeling of the region of Cotswolds, England. Also exemplifying the English countryside in this original impressionist landscape are the thatched rooves, architecture, rugged terraine and locals lingering, all seemingly frozen in time! Legendary artist John Phillip Osborne, applying many of the principles of the Barbizon school of art painters as well as classic impressionism, was the leading instructor of the highly regarded Ridgewood Art Institute of New Jersey for more than thirty four years. Osborne taught a generation of his students to go beyond the obvious in portraying their subject matter in a composition striving to capture the genuine overall feeling of the moment. He had graduated with honors from Pratt Institute of NYC and then continued his studies at the Art Students League, also of NYC. Original Osborne oil paintings...

(In the 19th century many artists made educational trips to Italy). His first painting, "The Shepherd" (French: Le pâtre), was sold at the Triennale in Ghent. In 1888, when he was only 15 years old, he made his debut at the "Salon des Champs-Elysées" in Paris with his monumental work "The Launch of the Argo" (French: Le lancement...

  • Winter Scene
    By Walter Launt Palmer

In this prototypical oil painting, Walter Launt Palmer's title as "the painter of the American winter" can be vividly and brilliantly seen. As an impressionist painter that emerged at the turn of the 20th century, Palmer took great interest in the picturesque American landscape, though he particularly focused on the rendering of this landscape glistening with snow. His pictures evoke an unreplicable natural serenity, and in this oil painting "The Winter Scene...
