Harry Brioche
Lingering Spring 1 - landscape oil painting realism modern impressionist artwork

2023

About the Item

Contemporary landscape artist Harry Brioche delivers an awe-inspiring perspective of a spacious vista depicting a beautifully atmospheric countryside setting. This ethereal and idyllic piece is composed to emphasise a sense of freedom and adventure, conveyed through the expansive, tranquil emptiness of the scene involving long stretches of hills and a large scoping sky. The landscape has a dramatic and striking visual impact due to the way the artist has carefully employed and focused on the effect of light, highlighting the spirit of the ever changing natural location. Painted in oils in realism, this painting is imbued with a poetic implication of a moment caught in memory, capturing the raw magnificence of the British countryside in a captivating way. This piece is framed and painted on board, hand signed by the artist and ready to be displayed. Note: Unframed size 61x61cm 24x24''  Harry was born in the Seychelles in 1965 of Creole and American parentage. The freedom and sense of adventure island life offered to him as a child was idyllic and wonderful. However this was brought to an abrupt end when his family was forced to flee the island and the Coup d’etat in 1977. Harry finally moved to England in 1980 with his parents and sister, and embraced his new land and culture. He has since happily settled in Cheshire with his wife Catherine and two little boys. Harry considers himself a self-taught artist despite attending College of Art. Following an ultimatum by his college lecturers to conform to the institutions style and methods of painting or leave, he made the brave move to go it alone. Harry went on to carve out a highly successful career as an illustrator and graphic designer. From an early age Harry was captivated by the beauty and drama of the great British landscape and it’s ever changing skies, which are in sharp contrast to that of the Seychelles. This inspiration at such an early age was and continues to be ever present in his expansive, lyrical, majestic landscapes, which are a joy to behold. With his total commitment and passion for his art, and the creation of such beautiful pieces it is no surprise that his original paintings now hang in private and corporate collections around the world. Harry is undoubtedly assured of continued success and longevity. Harry’s work is regularly exhibited at the Mall Gallery in London through the NEAC, ROI and the RBA annual exhibitions. He has a full calendar of national and international exhibitions and shows planned for the year ahead.
