About the Item

Dark clouds at a stormy horizon meet a violet sky in this emotive diptych by Jay Hodgins. Layers of curated colors coated in a glossy resin create depth and light in the atmospheric painting. This work is part of the Rujuh series. Rujuh is Indonesian for seven, a number that has practical and mystical dimensions. Hodgins attended the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and has a BA in Interior Design from Ryerson University. With a talent for solving complex spatial and visual challenges, his progressive career path led to Canada’s most prestigious residential design firm, where he directed a roster of award-winning international projects. His art has been featured in national magazines and on HGTV. His paintings are held in private and corporate collections.
