About

Ashley John is proud to offer this artwork by: Laurence A Campbell (born 1939) Laurence Campbell was born in Philadelphia in 1939. He studied architecture at Temple University and owned his own building business. As a painter, Campbell worked on commissions for clients who wanted copies of well-known artists of the past. He also worked in fine art restoration. In the 1970s Campbell abandoned his building business and opened “Gallery 35” in New Jersey. His background in art gave him the ability to make a profit from buying and selling art. However, his own paintings had always been his true passion. Campbell closed down “Gallery 35” in the early 1990s and started exhibiting his own paintings. He stopped painting in 2003. Campbell is rarely seen in public and shuns publicity. He has never joined any art associations.
