Petrus Paulus Schiedges jr. (1860-1922) was student at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. Was an important figure of the Hague School in his time. Painted, drawn and watercolor landscapes with, among other things, sheep, heathland, forests and waterland. Exhibitions in Rotterdam, Amsterdam and The Hague. The Frans Hals Museum Haarlem and Centraal Museum Utrecht own work by him.
The painting is signed fully PPSchiedges but a part of the signature is located under the frame. The frame is original to the painting.
