About the Item
An oil painting depicting the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. This nocturne shows the beautifully sculpted spires of a cathedral designed by architect Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona, Spain. The contrast of the light cast by the spotlights on the building against the dark night sky make the spires seem to glow as if from within. Silhouettes of trees are seen at the lower righthand corner, making the viewer feel as if they are standing there in person.
Painting dimensions: 20 x 12.125 inches
Framed dimensions: 24 x 16.375 x 1 inches
Framed in a classic black and gold frame (see pictures).
Artist Bio
Rachel Personett was born in Hawaii, but raised in Colorado. Being the daughter of a pilot she has always traveled extensively. She has studied part time at the Savannah College of Art and Design, The Angel Academy of Art, and finally settled on the Florence Academy of Art, graduating in 2015. In January 2016 she apprenticed the painter Odd Nerdrum in Norway for eight months. Rachel Personett works strictly from life, and enjoys the challenged of painting the ephemeral. Working from life provides the opportunity to travel around the world painting the ever changing people and landscapes.
