About the Item
"Entrance to the City" is an original oil on panel by American artist Ron Blumberg.
Blumberg was classically trained at La Grande Academie Chaumiere in Paris, c. 1930, before moving to New York where he became a National Academy artist and a member of the Art Students League.
"Entrance to the City", is from the artist's mid-late 1950's period of modern post impressionism. Blumberg preferred using pallet knife on panel during this period with heavy layers of paint on the panel. The painting is a time capsule of downtown Los Angeles in the mid 1950's, signed, c.1955.
