About the series: Autumn in London Series is one of the most personal projects of Shizico Yi; the sensitive colours, her signature expressive and confident brushstrokes are an instant classic of Shizico's outstanding art career and artworks. To document the streets they've walked and her late dog's favourite trees, Shizico embarked on a series of Plein air paintings in autumn, the season when her late-dog Favor gone over to the rainbow bridge. These are the views of her neighbourhood streets where she and her late-dog often walked. The colours of the turning leaves symbolise aging. Standing hours each day painting in the chilly London autumn air kept the artist alerted to one's vulnerability, yet, within the colours of nature, one finds the energy of restoration and allowing time to contemplate the memory of their decade-long walks. Note for measurements: The set includes 4 major large oil paintings, each measure 101 x 76 CM, x 4 paintings place side by side total measurement is 101 x 304 CM You can hang them as a set to bring impact to a larger space, or on separate walls to bring rooms together. About the Artist: Shizico Yi is available with our studio GSY Gallery. Dr. Shizico Yi is a London based artist, working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories. With a design and film background, Yi combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large. Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK and a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL, London.
