110 Freeway Bridge

About the Item

Provenance Acquired by the gallery directly from the artist UNFRAMED: 24" x 30.5" x 2.5" FRAMED: 18" x 24" Description Tony Peters's fascination for freeways is metaphoric. Freeways are an integral part of life in Southern California as these busy highways connect like concrete arteries. To Peters, they symbolize life's journey filled with decisions. In "110 Freeway Bridge," the artist brings attention to the curves in the architectural details and the cut-off directional sign that warns us of impending curves, however, the outcome is not known. The sign to the right tips toward the direction of the tunnel and draws the traveler further into the scene.
