About the Item
Inspired by his own exploration of the outdoors and a strong desire for continued environmental preservation, Straus' large-scale paintings take an Original approach to the depiction of iconic landscapes.Topher Straus’s work blends photography with digital painting.
He starts with a photograph and pares it down to its most basic lines and shapes. Next, he digitally hand-colors the piece, reflecting while abstracting the colors and shapes in the Original image .
The artworks are printed on aluminum using a state-of-the-art sublimation process then coated with a glossy resin finish. This finish provides amazing depth, and luminosity allowing the rich, vibrant colors to glow on this unique surface. After printing, the art is painstakingly reviewed, then carefully framed.
Framing and hanging system: The frame is 1.3"" thick and comes in brushed black aluminum. Once hung, the frame puts the artwork exactly 1.5"" from the wall. A hanging wire is installed so the artwork can be hung right out of the box. Rubber bumpers are applied to all four corners for wall stability.
