He played the role of intermediate between the historical landscape and the romantic movement. His paintings are found in many museums : Beziers, Fontainebleau, Dijon, Honfleur, Rennes, Versailles, Angers, Autun, Carpentras, Cherbourg, Coutances, Evreux, La Fere, Lille, Quimper, Nantes, Reims, Rouen, Toulouse.
