This warm portrait looks like it could have been painted by Corot. Francis Luis Mora paints in that tradition. It's a small painting that invites the viewer to look closer. The artist paints with a deep technical understanding of the fundamentals. The subtleties of both sitters' expressions are masterfully rendered and invite reexamination. Notice the artist's distinctive use of chiaroscuro, with subtle contrasts between light and shade. It's marvelously composed with positive and negative spaces balancing the overall composition.
