    By Cary Ennis
    Located in Scottsdale, AZ
Ever seeking to recognize and express the beauty she sees in the world around her, Cary Ennis paints images that "combine a powerful sense of clarity and solidity with a feeling of deep and penetrating quiet," according to Southwest Art Magazine. She works in a Realist style, seeing beauty in the most ordinary as well as the sublime. Although her main focus has been still life, she also produces portraits, figurative work and landscapes. A resident of New Mexico for most of her life, Cary grew up painting and drawing, encouraged by family and teachers. Her love of art led her to a M.A. at the University of New Mexico, and on to study at the Art Students League of New York, as well as in workshops with a variety of excellent teachers. In undergraduate work she received a minor in English and Philosophy, interests which have continued through the years. She worked as a jeweler for some years before settling full time into painting and drawing. Cary has had numerous one person shows and been featured in many magazine articles. She recently moved to Salt Spring Island...
