Anna Shesterikova
Course of Life. Acrylic painting, large format, horizontal, shoes.

2023

About the Item

"This painting is absolutely unique." said Anna Shesterikova about this artwork. "It is valuable because here, in the form of a twisted spiral, I drew the shoes that I wore at different periods of my life, starting from baby shoes and ending with the slippers from the hotel from which I had returned at the time of working on this work. The first skates, ski boots, Russian felt boots, the shoes I wore on dates... I had to strain my memory and remember what shoes I wore at different years. It was an exciting journey into the past, thanks to my memory, which in this way captured the course of life." The painting was painted in the style of modern decorative painting. Suitable for the interior of a person who loves non-standard solutions. "Braque and mangosteens", square, modern still life, vibrant, mixed media
Located in Oslo, NO
This vibrant and dynamic still life is a modern homage to Georges Braque, a pioneering figure of Cubism. The artist masterfully integrates Braque’s signature visual language, blending bold geometric structures with organic forms, abstraction with reality. The result is a composition that echoes the fragmented perspectives and layered planes characteristic of Braque’s revolutionary approach to still life. At the heart of the painting, a cluster of deep purple mangosteens (a nod to the artist's current life in Asia), still wrapped in a red plastic net, spills onto the table. Their rich, velvety hues contrast with the cool turquoise ceramic bowl...
