About the Item
A well-worn green leather chair sits against a dilapidated wall--paint-peeling in this nostalgic oil painting by Dmitry Yuzefovich. A small collection of items…a child’s toy truck, an umbrella, a pair of shoes, crumpled paper coffee cups, and a set of keys in warm colours of yellow, red and an earthy brown create a charming tableau. Yuzefovich’s work is a representation of memory—the recollection of moments in the past.

Born in Ukraine, Yuzefovich obtained a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel in 2000 and an MFA in 2005. He moved to Canada with his family in 2015 and lives in Nova Scotia. Yuzefovich has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. His paintings have been collected in Israel, Canada, the US, England and Europe.
