Claude Venard
Post Cubist Abstract Painting of a Fish 'le Dorade' by Claude Venard

About the Item

The intense & atmospheric palette in ‘Robert, Dorade’ is hugely unique. The scraping back of paint to create the harsh outlines is un-mistakenly Venard. Although only two colours are used, Venard has created a piece with amazing depth and a piece so striking & detailed. Beginning his career at La Louvre, Venard cultivated an ever-changing aesthetic, as he experimented over the years. He was a visionary, creating his own artistic path. In 1945, through his continued friendship with Gruber and Marchand, Venard shared mutual success.
