About the Item
Experience the vibrant freshness of "Still life with apples and dragonfly," an original oil painting on linen. This medium-sized artwork captures a delightful scene from a unique bird's-eye perspective, bathed in strong, luminous light that makes the bright fruits and flowing fabric practically glow. The composition centers on a decorative plate, around which plump apples and soft, white folds create a gentle, circular movement, inviting your gaze to wander and discover the subtle blue patterns.
Painted from life using a meticulous multi-layer technique, this piece exudes a sense of joy and harmony. The artist masterfully balances light, color, and movement, bringing a lively, contemporary feel to a classic still life subject. The warm highlights on the apples suggest their juicy ripeness, while the delicate texture of the linen canvas adds a tactile dimension. This painting is ready to hang, signed on both the front and back.

Irina Trushkova
Irina Trushkova was born in Russia and graduated from the Faculty of Art of Krasnodar State University in 1987. She has been professionally engaged in painting since 1991. Having participated in more than 30 exhibitions and Art Fair her works are now represented in private collections in Russia, Germany, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, the USA, France, Belgium, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Trushkova became a member of the Union of Russian Artists in 1995 and a laureate of the Culture and Art Scholarship of the Krasnodar Region Administration. Since 2004 she has lived and worked in Belgium. The traditional Dutch 17th-century painting inspired Trushkova because of its delicate and balanced approach to light, shadow, and color nuances. She mainly uses a multi-layered technique. Even if their process is slow and complex, it makes it possible to accentuate light effects, various textures, and, last but not least, transparency. "I paint still life compositions in oil. Observing solely from life I aspire to capture the movement of light as it reveals both the object and the surroundings, creating a sense of serenity and quiet. The search for balance and harmony in the composition is vitally important for me. The objects in my still life can be often very usual and simple: jugs, fruits, bowls, or flowers. It's wonderment about things and visual information that l want to strengthen in my works. I invite the viewer to re-enchant in the world around us, to discover the short but really precious moments of life. Seizing the incredible beauty of life is my deepest vocation."
