The artist finds his inspiration in the still life of the still life. Blom can tell inspired about the creation of his paintings. The technique he uses, the forms he is looking for, but also about the stillness and concentration he observes in himself while working on the paintings. In addition, he is never bored by the beauty of the simplicity or the subtlety of, for example, an ellipse. Wonderful to see this in his work and to hear it from his mouth. We would like to let more people hear that. It gives his work, which has enough power and beauty in its own right, yet another, extra dimension.
Dutch Artist Kees Blom (Apeldoorn, 1968) comes from an artistic family. His father already had a passion for painting, but it was his son Kees who really took the step to painting. Kees learned to look closely from his construction and carpentry experience. He has further developed his painter's eye over the years. Kees Blom is a realistic fine painter with a special focus on backlighting. “Setbacks taught me to look unruly”
He currently paints greatly enlarged bowls and vases.
The simpler his subjects, the better his craftsmanship and personality become visible. The light has been carefully observed, this vase positioned in the plane without any significant place indication. A perfect expression of material gives life to the colors. He only uses a limited color palette, but because of the many intermediate colors he creates depth and nuance. More and more art collectors know where to find his work. Blom is developing into a master in the application of sparkling light and color in backlighting.
