About

Still life - Salvatore Marinelli Italia 2007 - Oil on canvas cm. 50x100 Salvatore Marinelli's painting is a still life of peaches, black and white grapes together with a pear, a melon and an ear, all with a dark baroque background and a simple table. The objects and the light are intensely studied and are painted with wonderful tenderness with a variety of fruits. Marinelli is inspired by one of the many works of Adriaen Coorte Dutch painter of the golden age specialized in "table still lifes" with flowers and fruits lit from above, with the dark background typical of turn-of-the-century still lifes. Gold leaf gilded and mahogany laquered wooden frame
