About the Item
The original abstract still-life painting by Sylvia Paul is framed, signed and stringed and ready to be displayed. The artist has used complimentary purple and yellow hues to create an extremely bright piece of art that exudes feelings of joy.
Sylvia Paul’s oil paintings are worked using a knife in a free and expressive style. For her landscapes she uses small pastel sketches done in the field, as her reference in the studio. The oils are painted on MDF board and framed with a contemporary stone white colour frame. Landscape and still life are familiar subjects, but after visiting Japan Sylvia’s collages in particular are more abstract in style, and her memories are often her inspiration. Sylvia Paul studied painting at Colchester School of Art and Hockerill College of Education. The Artist regularly exhibits in Japan and The Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, UK. Other major exhibitions includes The Pastel Society, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Laing Landscape Exhibition and The Royal Institute of Water Colour Artists.

- Wisteria and Roses - abstract expressionist artwork gestural study flowers artBy Mary ChaplinLocated in London, ChelseaThis original abstract expressionist artwork by Mary Chaplin presents a vibrant figurative study of flora conveyed in gestural paint work. The artist applies a kaleidoscopic colour palette imparted with powerful and energetic brushstrokes which create a great sense of vivacity and energy. The artist evokes the beauty and frailty of the subject matter, seeing how the delicacy of flowers is reflected in the human condition. Her liberated approach to applying marks to the canvas is combined with a thoughtful and balanced composition, embracing the use of negative space to create a sense of symmetry, making for an elegant abstract work of art. This piece is painted in acrylic on canvas, hand signed by the artist and ready to be displayed. Mary Chaplin is a professional French artist living in Wailly, near Amiens in the beautiful River Selle Valley. She was born near the Bay of the Somme and spent her younger years in the Picardie countryside, often accompanying her father who was passionate about the local wildlife and environment. Her mother had a beautiful garden where she grew flowers to sell at the weekly village markets , Mary would help her picking and creating bunches of flowers, old roses, peonies, lupines , phlox…, it was surely from these early years that her love of the country , forests and flowers came from. Her earliest works then were motivated by her environment, the sea, fields, forests, country life, not forgetting the flowers in her mother’s garden. The Bay of the River Somme is famous for its flora, fauna and above all its beautiful light which has always been an inspiration for painters, poets and writers. At first she experimented with many different techniques, water colour, pastels, pencil, acrylic and oil, capturing the scenes around her, but even at the beginning of her career she was using light as an integral theme through her works. In 2005 her work took on a great U turn when sitting quietly in a small chapel in a picturesque coastal village , Bois de Cise, she watched the light patterns through the stained glass windows moving slowly over the old flag...Category

- Dian, Jackson Pollock Style Painting, Large Original Statement Abstract Art,By Robert DuntLocated in Deddington, GBRobert Dunt, Dian, 2016, oil on canvas, 142.5 x 142.5cm, original painting for sale. "For me these paintings are dealing with colour and space. I’m endeavouring to push simple colour combinations to their absolute limit. For example with this painting the colours pink and black. I wanted to make the colours resonate in our eyes as much as possible. To a degree I was working within the same sphere of investigation as the pointillists, like Paul Signac." Robert Dunt paintings are available to buy online with Wychwood Art. Robert Dunt is an abstract/pop art artist who graduated from City & Guilds of London Art School (2004) with First Class honours. Robert Dunt paintings, prints and installations are inspired by music and explore the use of colour in a contemporary context. His practice has a rebel ethic that distorts art traditions in order to create surprising and original works: “Like putting Botticelli’s Venus through a Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face distortion pedal.” Rebert Dunt has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has had several solo shows - Madonnas and Housemasters, Charterhouse School (2015), Break on Through, Waterloo Gallery (2004) and I Wanna Trip You Up, Covent Garden (2004). Selected group exhibitions include Alien Beauty, Vyner Street; Fun House, The Empire Bethnal Green...Category
