Follower of Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer (12 January 1636 – 20 February 1699) Still Life Oil on Canvas in Later Giltwood Frame Dimensions refer to size of frame. Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer was a Franco-Flemish painter who is best known for his flower pieces. Monnoyer was attached to the Gobelins and Beauvais tapestry workshops where he also produced cartoons of fruit and flowers for the tapestry-weavers. Monnoyer’s approach is highly recognisable and his works inspired a talented circle of followers such as the unknown late Baroque artist who painted the present picture.
