Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966, he is now an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer and Europe’s best selling wildlife photographer. "My predilection when photographing wildlife is to look to emphasise the most dominant characteristic of that animal. With a male silverback gorilla for instance, I want to convey a sense of upper body strength and with a zebra I will play with the stripes. With a cheetah, I could go for speed - which is a little hackneyed - or focus on what generates that speed - the legs. That’s the thing about cheetahs - they really do have an extraordinary shape which is rarely captured on film as the camera is not at ground level. However, if that perspective can be fully achieved, the viewer is left in no doubt that the cheetah is really all legs, with a little head and a little body. No wonder it is the fastest animal on earth." -David Yarrow

Durango, Colorado - 2023 Archival Pigment Print on 315gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta Paper Each is signed, dated and numbered on the front. Edition Size: 20 I am not ashamed of the fact that I often have an audience in my mind when I take a shot. In this case in the Diamond Belle Saloon in Durango, Colorado, my instincts were that it would appeal more if the frame was busy because my experience with this famous old wild west bar is that it is always something of a gathering place for all those who like a drink. It is how bars should be and is celebrated as such. I want the audience to say; “I wish I was in that bar that night” or even “we need more interesting people...

Each is signed, dated and numbered on the front. Price includes David Yarrow's custom black ash frame, white archival matting and protective UV acrylic. David Yarrow has built an unrivaled reputation for capturing the beauty of the planet’s remote landscapes, cultures and endangered animals. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966, he is now an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer and Europe’s best selling wildlife photographer. The 1961 movie The Hustler won two Oscars and, along with The Color of Money, is probably the most famous Hollywood pool film. Based on the novel with the same name by Walter Tevis (1959), it tells the story full of ups and downs of the talented “Fast” Eddie Felson (Paul Newman) and his encounters with the legendary Minnesota Fats (Jackie Gleason). In the movie, players were always heavy gamblers, smokers and drinkers which contributed to the “bad boy” image of pool. There is nothing that can be sugar coated about pool; it is not an activity for the earnest or the clean living. It is a game for drinkers and hustlers. I felt no need to earmark a Fast Eddie or Minnesota Fats in this pool game...
