About Howard Lewis:
Lewis’ artistic practice often explores science, engineering, technology, and innovation. - Limited Edition Black and White Photograph - " Windshear " 30 x 40By Howard LewisLocated in White Plains, NYLimited Edition Black and White Photograph - " Windshear " I’ve long been fascinated by weather and most recently climate change science. My deepening knowledge of climate change has strongly influenced the final outcome of images of skies and clouds. The photographs explore the unique emotional ballet of the times we live in; conflicting, dramatic, beautiful, stark, passionate, and rapid change – it’s all there. I wait, looking up, searching for interesting shapes of clouds to appear, the relationships between the cloud...Category

Michael Light Golden State Freeway Looking Southeast Over Fernando Pass, 2004 Image Size: 40 x 50 inches Frame Size: 42 x 52 x 2 inches Edition 3 of 10 Signed and editioned on verso Artist Biography - Michael Light was born in 1963. The pre-eminent aerial photographer of his generation, he is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship for photography and his work is in the collections of major museums from SF MoMA to the Victoria and Albert. Prior to taking up aerial photography, Light conceived of and put together the book Full Moon - the first look at NASA photography as fine art - and a project which was published in multiple editions selling several hundred thousand copies around the world. In a way Full Moon had a bearing on Light's subsequent aerial work, as he continues to see and explore the terrestrial world much as the astronauts saw the moon. For the last 15 years Light has been flying his own small aircraft primarily over the American West investigating how both man and nature make their mark on the landscape. To date Light has completed 18 separate Western projects - each of which comprises an oversize handmade artist's book as well as more traditional prints. Largely documenting the impact of man and industry on the land (but not immune to the sublime) Light's subjects range from Utah's gold and copper mines and the (over)development of places like Sun City, AZ and Lake Las Vegas, NV to contrasting Arizona's Meteor Crater - the largest meteoric impact site in the Americas - with James Turrell's Roden Crater...Category

- "find us soon" black and white photography moon sky clouds tree silhouetteBy Marie NavarreLocated in Phoenix, AZMarie Navarre find us soon, 2020 archival digital print on Surface Gampi, Rives BFK 25.5" x 25" unframed 28.75" x 27.75" framed Edition of 5 Marie Navarre’s deep interest in poetry, especially the Japanese form of Haiku, has had a profound influence on her work. She conjures dreamlike images that appear to be from just outside the realm of human observation, like the fragments of a distant memory. She prints her mysterious and timeless images of flocks of birds, grey sky and shimmering endless horizons unmoored from specific times and places, then hand stitches over a background of Gampi paper—a soft, silky Japanese paper that has a satin-like sheen. These enigmatic photographic constructions document the implications of a moment rather than its actuality. The artist understands that her relationship to photography is complex: “I have this trouble of being a photographer but wanting to make the photographs into something else. I still think like a photographer even though in some ways I’m sabotaging the way that photography works. I still begin my artmaking process by making pictures. I don’t know how to begin without the photograph.” At play is the tension of a fixed medium documenting a world in movement. Navarre has a BA, MA and MFA from Arizona State University. Her work is collected nationally and she has received a number of awards including a Capp Street Project Residency Grant in San Francisco for her collaboration with Jim Campbell...Category
