About the Item
Vintage Southwestern Black and White photograph depicting a still life with Pueblo (Native American) black-ware pottery jar with dried maize (corn) with an adobe wall by Myron Wood (1921-1999). Signed lower right and dated 1980. Presented in a custom hardwood frame with all archival materials including Museum Glass and 6 ply archival mat, outer dimensions measure 17 ¾ x 14 ¼ x ¾ inches. Image size is 9 ½ x 6 ¼ inches.
About the Artist:
A native of Oklahoma, Myron Wood relocated to Colorado in 1947 where he worked as the assistant curator for photography at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. He is known for his iconic image of Georgia O'Keeffe and his photographs of the American Southwest including at Taos Pueblo, in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado.
