About

8 15/16 x 6 5/16 inch vintage gelatin silver print
Image size 8 3/4 x 6 1/8 inches
Signed, titled and dated on verso, with artist's stamp

This superb vintage print is an example of how Mantz focused his eye most successfully on the Modernist architecture of the New Objectivity, a heavily geometric and unadorned German structure design of the 1920s. Also known as Functionalism, these architectural subjects seemed to dictate Mantz’s personal photographic style.
