ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Maciek Jasik produces images which focus on society’s relationship with nature and questions of representation and the self, while employing various in-camera techniques to create parallel worlds of color. Like Cubism demonstrated before, seeing reality from one angle is very limiting. Moreover, by focusing on what is visible to the camera, we ignore what is not; a golf course can be built on a landfill, a bank over a cemetery. In ‘The World with Us’ we do not see a straight landscape. We witness a combination of what is straight ahead with what is behind, above, to the left or right. The images demonstrate that our status is forever unknowable and our over-reliance on the visible will always prevent us from approaching the truth. Maciek was born in Poland but grew up on the East coast of the USA. He studied Political Science, lived in Japan, worked for fashion photographers in New York and ended up producing content for clients like Adidas, IDEO, Apple, The New York Times, GQ, Wired UK, among others. He currently resides in the Southwest. ADDITIONAL SIZES AND FRAMING: Additional sizes are available. Please inquire for more information on larger sizes. We offer fully archival professional framing for all prints for an additional cost. Framing is available in white, black or natural wood and prints can be framed either with or without a mat board. We also offer face mounting to plexiglas. Please inquire for pricing and more details on our framing. PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship unframed prints internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.
