About the Item
The seductive blue sky and the seductive milkshakes make you feel as if you are sitting in the car at this "Americana style" Roadhouse in Welkom, South Africa. It is typical of Richard's work in that it has a sense of a nostalgic journey, a road trip where you have stopped with your family at this independent restaurant surrounded by palm trees.
This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white frame. It is signed and numbered on reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
It is available to order in larger sizes or in custom sizes and it pairs beautifully with other artworks in the Signs Collection. When buying in multiples we can offer a consolidated shipping price.
Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world and his work is now part of many international collections.
