Not mounted. "Renée's Dream XV (Days of Heaven)" by Stefanie Schneider is a captivating black and white Polaroid artwork that transports viewers to a surreal and haunting dreamscape. This piece is part of the larger 29 Palms, CA project and was created in 2006. In the foreground of the photograph, a woman is seen riding a horse bareback. The horse is facing the camera, and the woman's presence on its back adds a sense of both vulnerability and power. It's a striking image that conveys a connection between the woman and the horse, and it hints at a deeper narrative. To the left and center of the composition, two young men stand. Neither of them is wearing a shirt, and the one on the left is holding a long rifle, as evidenced by the stock of the butt visible in the photograph. Their bare torsos and the presence of the rifle introduce elements of tension and mystery into the scene.
