Sunbathing Antibes, 1976 is a Limited Edition Estate Stamped Digital C-Type Print by 20th Century American Photographer Slim Aarons. This portrait of two female sunbathers demonstrates Slim Aarons' unique ability to capture ordinary moments completely unobserved and render them extraordinary. Dani Geneux (left) and Marie-Eugenie Gaudfrin sunbathe topless at the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc, in Antibes on the French Riviera. The Hotel du Cap Eden Roc features prominently in Slim Aarons' body of work. As a destination hotel on the legendary French Riviera, Hotel du Cap drew a crowd comprising the rich and famous, including aristocracy. In this sensual photograph, Slim Aarons depicts with ease and matter-of-factness the bronzed body of Marie-Eugenie, whose skin is glistening with oil in the richness of the midday Antibes sun. Taken in France, August 1976. Printed at time of order. Contact the gallery for information about other print sizes. Lead times expected up to 5 working days. Currency fluctuations may cause the price to change. This is a contemporary print from the Getty Archive using Slim Aarons negatives. All prints feature a Slim Aarons blindstamp, and are accompanied by a Slim Aarons Certificate of Authentication issued by Getty. The new Slim Aarons signature will start appearing on Certificates of Authenticity by the end of the year. The signature design is drawn directly from the photographer's hand-penned signature, and reflects the artistry at the heart of the Slim Aarons Archive.
