About the Item
Ceravolo's "Triple Chuck Close", Combines Acrylic, oil, encaustic, moveable steel grids and Archival Pigments on canvas mounted on board. The viewer can slide the black grids back and forth through a channel in the frame creating changing looks for this portrait of Chuck Close. When Ceravolo first met Close in his home town of Southampton, he told Close that he was an influence in is creations of large scale portraits. Chuck invited Ceravolo to his Bridgehampton studio and they arranged for Ceravolo to take a series of photographs of Close one of which Ceravolo has used in this work titled "Triple Chuck Close".
Ceravolo's paintings have received international acclaim for more three decades. His art, came to popular attention when he was commissioned to create five large scale oil on canvas portraits for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City of Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Frank Zappa, Neil Young and Hall and Oates. In addition to these, his paintings are in many influential corporate and private collections, including: ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, DAVID BRENNER, MONIQUE VAN VOOREN, WARNER BROS., RCA RECORDS AND SCHENLEY INDUSTRIES to name a few.
