Ryan McGinley Vinyl Record Art 2007:
Ryan McGinley (American, b. 1977) is a photographer living in New York City. Longtime friends with fellow artists Dan Colen and the late Dash Snow, McGinley's work often features seemingly real-life situations that have actually been staged and cast. Populating his images with personal friends, McGinley achieves a heightened level of intimacy with his subjects, a quality made obvious by their perceived lack of inhibition. As a result, his work emits an undeniable spontaneity, despite its staged production. Amongst his achievements, McGinley was one of the youngest artists ever to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Off-set print on vinyl record. Unsigned from an edition of 5000.
